肛門嚢という言葉はなじみのない言葉だと思いますが、この肛門嚢が問題を起こすことがあります。
The term “anal sac” may not be familiar to you, but this anal sac can cause problems.

肛門嚢とは？ What is an anal sac?
肛門嚢は肛門の4時方向と8時方向に存在する分泌腺です。
The anal sacs are glands present at 4 and 8 o’clock of the anus.
この分泌腺の内容物は強烈な臭いがし、マーキングや個体識別に使用されています。
The contents of these glands have a strong odor and are used for marking and identification.
イタチやスカンクでは肛門腺を発達させて、敵から身を守るために敵に向かって内容物を噴出します。
In weasels and skunks, they develop anal glands and spew their contents at their enemies to protect themselves from them.
肛門嚢が貯留しているサインとは？ What are signs of anal sac retention?
興奮時などに肛門嚢の内容物が自然に排泄される場合はそれで何も問題はありません。
If the contents of the anal sacs are excreted spontaneously, such as when excited, there is nothing wrong with that.
問題となるのは、肛門腺分泌物が固く、なかなか排泄されない場合です。
The problem arises when anal gland secretions are hard and not easily excreted.
肛門嚢分泌物が貯留し、なかなか排泄されない場合の症状は、お尻歩きをしたり、お尻をしきりに気にしたりといったものです。
Symptoms of anal sac secretions that accumulate and are not excreted easily include butt-walking and constant concern for the buttocks.
場合によっては内容物が貯留しすぎて、肛門嚢が破れ、局所的に重度の炎症を引き起こします。
In some cases, excessive retention of contents can lead to rupture of the anal sac, causing severe localized inflammation.
対処方法 How to deal with it
ただ肛門嚢分泌物が貯留しているだけであれば、定期的に肛門嚢を絞ればそれで大丈夫です。
If it is just a retention of anal sac secretions, then squeezing the anal sac regularly will do the trick.
どの程度の頻度で肛門嚢を絞らないといけないかは、症例によって異なります。
How often the anal sacs must be squeezed depends on the case.
肛門嚢が破裂してしまった場合は、創部の洗浄や肛門嚢絞り、場合によっては壊死した皮膚のデブリードメントなどを実施し、処置後は抗生物質を処方します。
If the anal sac has ruptured, wound cleaning, anal sac squeezing, and possibly debridement of necrotic skin are performed, and antibiotics are prescribed after treatment.
そもそも肛門嚢の分泌物が貯留しやすい場合、肛門嚢を外科的に切除することも可能です。
If the anal sac is prone to accumulation of secretions in the first place, the anal sac can be surgically removed.
